BUSINESS REPRESENTATION

Reducing disruption during essential change

A mandatory SAP shutdown had become a trading risk because newer products required live system checks. I assessed the impact with Finance and Commercial Trading and represented Retail with the director’s authority.

Reducing disruption during essential change — illustrative scene
2 weekends

Successful deployment on the agreed schedule

~2 hours

Affected trading disruption after opening each Saturday

My contribution

I proposed moving suitable work into the week and concentrating the shutdown overnight. Working across affected teams, and escalating unresolved barriers through the Retail Director, helped secure agreement. The technical project team retained deployment responsibility.

What followed

Deployment completed over two weekends, with affected trading resuming approximately two hours after Saturday opening. I checked historical sales restatement and agreed a customer contingency with Store Support.
